About The Event

Breastfeeding is the recommended infant feeding method due to its importance to the health of mothers and their infants.  Benefits for the infant are both short and long term, impacting multiple physiological systems, optimizing physical and cognitive development. Mothers who breastfeed also experience multiple health benefits, ranging from decreased risk of some cancers, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and more.  Researchers are continuing to explore human milk and breastfeeding and determine the many ways they impact the health and wellbeing of mothers and infants.
